Kirkland Diaper review

Kirkland Diaper Review

I received this sample pack threw Costco for Kirkland brand diapers, for testing and reviewing purposes. My daughter is in pull-ups during the day and diapers at night. These diapers are cheap but as amazing as name brand diapers. they don't leak, they don't get that gel like stuff, and they moved with her body. I love these diaper's personally. I will continue to buy these for her night diapers until she no longer needs them and once I am graced with another baby I will also buy these then. Give them a try and let me know what you think of them. Always feel free to leave a comment or facebook us for questions that we will answer on this blog!

Yumm!!!!

first off let me say before I get into my subject of the day.... YUMMMMMMMMMM!

Titanic

As a child I was really into history. I remember going to my grandfather's house and sitting with him in-front of the tv and watching the history channel all day and at night till bed.  When I was at home my love for history carried on. I found love in the stories of world war 2 and titanic. I cared to learn of many others however these two screamed my name. As a child who was more then into history I went to almost ever titanic museum, I watched videos of the trips from the surface four hours into the ocean to the titanic. I read every book that I came in contact with on both subjects. My mother spared no expense to keep me entertained with history. Now i can look back on my passion and the items i got 15 years ago, I want to share them with you.
Olympic/Titanic Brochure, Deck Plan, Luggage Stickers, Boarding Card, Notes For First Class Passengers, First Class Passenger List, First Class Lunch Menu, April 14th Dinner Menu, Post cards, Music Book, Ice Warning Telegram, Sinking Message Telegram, Marconigram From The Carpathia, Landing Card and Newspaper.

Passion!

Where history was more of a hobby my passion was my art! I have worked in Three tattoo shops and I have been offered job's in other's. I have done album work for bands and design tattoos on my off time for friends and family. I paint, make clothing jewelry and all. My most recent project and I will post photos once I complete and all the way threw, I have accepted a job to paint a family portrait =] so excited, I have done family portraits but never have i done a big mural to hang for everyone to see!

Lite House: freeze dried herbs

I love to cook, at age 15 I was excepted into the culinary college Le Cordon Bleu. I had a full drawn up plan of my future restaurant menu, theme, location and set up. I was taught to cook at the very early age of 5, and before that I was concocting my masterpieces for my mother every time I entered a kitchen. I am no stranger to herbs or their tastes, and I know what they pare best with. My brother and myself used to have our very own herb garden as pre-teens, and nothing compares to fresh herbs, or so I thought. I go threw herbs like crazy, and I had went in the store to buy more one day and ran across these freeze dried herbs in the produce department at Kroger. They are about $4.49-$5.00 for one bottle, however i seen them as worth a try. I purchased the Lite House freeze dried red onions, Lite House freeze dried chives, and the Lite House freeze dried garlic! I went home that night and made my husband and I steak and used two of the three herbs on it, and my chives in fresh, homemade mashed potato's . I fell in love with this product then, and there. Of course out of curiosity I tasted them without cooking them first and they were so fresh just freeze dried. I have recommended them ever sense to anyone I come in contact with that loves to cook as much as I do. They have many more herbs such as:
  • Oregano
  • Dill
  • Parsley
  • Salad Herb Blend
  • Basil
  • Cilantro
  • Italian Herb Blend
  • Poultry Herb Blend
  • Spring Onion
  • Jalapeno Rings
  • Mushrooms
These are defiantly worth the money. I will continue to stand by this product and keep the word going on how amazing they are. I even have my grandmother in love with this product, or maybe it is just my amazing cooking! Feel free to leave comments about your experience with the freeze dried herbs by Lite House.

Lunchables good when we are children but what about when we grow up?

Lunchables!!!

from oscar mayer

I bet you remember sitting in the lunch room in elementary school eating you a lunchable and thinking you were awesome, or coming home from school and for a snack before dinner grabbing you a lunchable out of the fridge and your mother yelling "i'm cooking dinner, don't get full". They were AMAZING! Have you tried them now, to get that taste of remembrance? I buy them for my two year old because they are a favorite past time of mine, and from time to time I find myself wanting one. You expect to get that spicy salsa you have to dip with the cheese to cool it off enough for your little mouth, or that perfect pizza sauce with that amazing cheese taste [cheese never did taste like that without a lunchable lol] or even that perfect ham sandwich cracker set. If you try them now you do expect them to be just as wonderful. But sadly they arn't what we remember. The salsa isn't spicy, the cheese tastes funny in the nacho set. The cheese I used to hate in the cracker sets taste better now but the meat is so sad . One has stood so true to the taste I remember, the pizza lunchable. OMFG it's amazing! I will still buy them for my daughter though because every child should experience the amazing taste that is LUNCHABLES! <3

Color OOPS!

Color OOPS? do or don't

I have used color oops many times. Here is what it claims:
The safest and most effective way to reverse an undesirable hair color application. Corrects your hair color by shrinking the dye molecules, allowing you to simply wash them away. It removes artificial color from hair that has become too dark. For instance: if your hair was blonde and you applied a brown color that is too dark, it can be used to get your hair back to a blonde shade. It can also be used to remove artificial color from hair that was lightened but became off-tone. For instance: if you have naturally brown hair and used an ash blonde color and your hair is now blonde with a green tint, it will remove the green tint, but your hair will remain blonde.
    • Removes all artificial hair color
    • Gently removes permanent & semi-permanent hair color
    • Takes only 20 minutes
    • Ammonia free/bleach free
    • Re-color the same day
It really does turn your hair back to the natural color [or bleached color]. I used it on black hair and my natural is red and as long as I hadn't bleached my hair blonde under the black it would go back red if so it would turn blonde. problem? within 2 days it was black again. It says scrub really hard to get the color molecules out. If I had scrubbed any harder i'd have no hair.. I believe it works for a few days. I find its an easy way to go from black to blonde though, I use it to get to red and then bleach to blonde sometimes.  Other then that this product is a fail.

Scary! Love! Amazing! Update!

Scary!!!!!!!!

I went to the doctor's appointment today for my daughter's 2 year shot and check up. In doing so I have been told I have to take her to the Children's hospital. That was upsetting. They gave her this EpiPen and it comes with "trainers" I love needles as most can tell by looking at me, but there is a difference between a tattoo or piercing and a shot from a doctor or at home. I went to try the "trainer", it said there is no medicine or needle in the thing but i didn't believe it. So here I am with this thing to my leg and i'm like, should I test it or not? Let's face it, this shit is freaking scary looking! The first time I tried it on my daughter she didn't realize what was going on the second time even she was scared thinking there was a needle, and this is the little girl that take a pen and scribbles on herself to give herself "tattoo's" yep she is going to grow up like me!

Love!!!!

I bought my daughter her first Lala Loopsy doll today. She got the plushy one for her birthday but I got her one of the real big ones. I thought they were stiff but they arn't. They are so cute! I think i found my twin! Another toy i buy for my daughter and I am so in love with are the monster high dolls, the reason I bring them up today I was told I looked like a monster high doll.. Yay I thought, but then I thought this was me before they came out.. I buy them for my daughter and call them her "mommy dolls" because I want her to grow up knowing this is a normal thing. Just because this was given to my daughter by two people really important to us I must post this big Hello Kitty, which seems to be very "in" right now.

Amazing!

I just took a trip with my husband and daughter for her 2nd birthday, but before we went I stopped by Rue 21 and bought a few things. I found the nail polish for 50 cent! omg I had to have it I mean come on 50 cent!!! It's like a silver color! It takes to coats but so worth it I normally don't paint my nails I have a saying "toe nails classy, finger nails trashy". Thats how I have always felt then once i got my hands tattooed I wear nothing but clear coat. I find this silver on all nails with a black on the middle finger is AMAZING! If you get around to rue 21 try it out, it's worth it I mean really worth it, 1 coat has lasted me a week so far!

Update on the impress press on manicure blog!

I had a friend try them and she agree's that they are not worth it. This is our convo about it.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Polish

I like to try new things and this new product by Sally Hansen has caught my eye today at the store, and of course I had to try it. The color's do not fit the color they say they are for the most part, some are expected to be the same but other's such as the "red" come out more purple. Do remember when you try this product the color it looks is the color you get don't go by name. The magnet is located on the top of the lid [which is removable to get to the thinner polish brush lid]. It had a little rounder edge to put at the top of the nail to keep the magnet the perfect length from the actual nail. This product is $10.00 in stores, is it worth it? You are about to find out.

Painting the nail

  • First I used a clear coat by Sally Hansen [I prefer to do this step you really don't have to because you'r going to put a thin coat of the magnetic polish on first]
  • Then I do a very thin coat as directed by the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail polish bottle
  • Next you put a good bit of polish on the nail and place the magnet over the nail for ten seconds. [so in the end you had two coats of Sally Hansen Magnetic nail polish, one thin layer you let dry then a thick layer you used the magnet on one by one.]
  • Then I put a yellow out coat by Jordana [which i place over my nails every time I do them]

My opinion of this product

Ok, so this product can be really pretty on the nail, and great for a night out on the town, at a concert or even a romantic date. [depending on the color of course]. of course there is a but. The magnet isn't rounded so it doesn't make the print over the full nail, the sides are kinda bland. The brush handle is like the size of a little kids nail polish bottle brush, and that hard to work with. It is also very time consuming so for mother's this may be a problem, but defiantly good for a night out with the girls, or on a date with the husband. I don't think this brand of Magnetic polish is worth $10.00 but there are other brand's you can try. I think Sally Hansen has some improvement's to do on this product. I will continue to use it for special event's but once my polish bottle is empty I wont be buying another. I purchased the blue and it was pretty true to the color. Did you try this product? What is you'r opinion of it? What color did you use and was it true to the color?

Update

I have a big metal trunk in my house with metal locks and all that good stuff. I went to open it and after noticed my nail polish was messed up so I had to remove it but i painted my toe nails back with using this product. Then I noticed while playing with the polish I took off that it literally is magnetic. I took a magnet off my fridge and collected the polish with it. How cool?

Teeth care for babies and toddlers!

Perfect care for baby and toddler teeth

One of the most important thing is oral care, even for babies. Children are still prone to cavities. If you start before a baby has teeth the better it will be for your child. There are product's on the market to help and I will be the one to tell you about these products, the prices, and where you can get them.

Baby:First we have to start with baby teeth, as mothers we all know that baby teeth popping threw can be very exciting for us, but painful for our children. You can't be the one to help ease the pain for your children, without baby Orajel. They have a product on the market, which I tested with my own daughter, that helps message the gum's and is a flimsy brush for once the tooth finally pop's threw. Finger toothbrush by Safety 1st is great for children from the time you think they are going to start teething on. This is the best product on the market for babies in my opinon. use the soft bubble side for massaging the gums prior to the teeth coming in, or in the spot the tooth is trying to come threw. You can purchase it at Walmart.com or at the store in the baby section by the care item's, you can pay $3.00 for the Finger toothbrush, holder and toddler toothbrush.

 Toothbrush set for baby toddler

Try not to use baby Orajel, instead try making willow bark extract, if you can get willow bark it will help. want to know how to make willow bark extract here is how.  To extract dry bark, powder it coarsely, soak with ethanol/water 50% for 8-10 days ( 20% bark, 40% solvent ) and add another 40% solvent, extract by maceration ( about 2 weeks, agitate frequently ), filter and press out the bark, mix both liquids, wait about 1-2 days and filter again.

Toddler:Of course you can't use toothpaste with fluoride for children that still swallow everything they put in their mouth. But they have special toothpaste for children by flavor and character. I got my daughter the My Little Pony toothpaste by Orajel. You can get the Character toothpaste for $3.50 at Walmart. Use a pea sized amount on you'r child's toothbrush. You can buy a starter set with the toothpaste and toothbrush for $4.00 at Walmart. Or for a cheaper way around it seeing as you have to replace toothbrushes every six month's you can go to the Dollar Tree and but a four set of toddler toothbrushes for $1, of course. This is  also the time you can start to use floss, and promote your child to clean his or her own teeth. I always put the toothpaste on her toothbrush and give it to her while i'm doing her hair in the morning, or after her bath and i'm getting her dressed, or after she eat's and i'm brushing mine. A child is more likely to do something they see their parent's doing. As for the floss I would do that myself if i were you till they are maybe three years old. I use the Dentek Fun flosser's on my daughter's teeth and she sits there and lets me. You can buy a pack of 48 at Walmart for $4.48.

Water at bed time is best for children's teeth instead of milk, formula, or even juice. If your child is potty training and you aren't giving your child anything to drink for the last two hour's before bed the make sure to rinse their mouth's out after they brush or have anything to drink to prevent the sugar from setting on the child's teeth and over time causing cavities. Oral health starts from birth. It is something that has to be worried about before they are adults.

Gerber Lil Dipper's & Similac

Gerber Lil Dipper's are they worth the money?

I started my daughter on everything kinda early because she was highly advanced, which some disagree with, however if you's child can handle it and is pushing for it, you should take advantage of that. Who knows you may have the next genius on you're hands and if so you don't want to hold him/her back right? Well after about one month maybe two of spoon feeding my daughter I tried the Gerber Lil Dipper's, which have ridges and are supposed to collect food when a child dips them into their food, and help them learn to feed  themselves using utensils [fine motor skills]. A wonderful product or just another piece of $5 trash?
I was really into Gerber everything for my daughter when she was a baby especially after the Similac scare in  2010 for beetles, larvae.

So the great thing about the Gerber Lil Dipper's was the idea of them, and that's all. My daughter used them multiple times threw her life [till she turned one] just to see if it was the age bracket that was the problem. These never helped her learn to eat with a fork and spoon, it was like a food launcher and that's all. They are cute, and kinda pricey seeing as mothers can get a pack of twelve baby spoon's [bpa free] at the dollar tree. I feel they are not only a waist of time but a waist of money, my daughter learned better with normal utensils. It might be different for other children but i don't think they are worth it.

While I was speaking of Similac earlier let me state that their was also a recall in 2011 and now in 2012. If any mother's out there are using Similac here is the recall information for this year and last:
After all the recall's they have had [multiple per year for the past three years that i know of] I am not sure it's safe for babies and if i were you i'd start the baby on Gerber or another brand. Wic will switch them if you ask or get a doctor's note. This is horrible because most hospital's start babies on Similac and don't give the mother a chance too choose [if they don't breast feed that is, which I feel is the best way]. If you do switch you'r babies formula make sure to do it at a gradual rate as to not mess with their stomach.
